Political ads too often are irritating, manipulative, divisive.
The ads I saw of John’s were thought-provoking, informative, and powerful, exactly what we need to “inform the consent of the voters” in a Democracy.
When I told John that “Farm” reduced me to tears in 30 seconds, he said, “60 seconds.”
John was an artist, a dear friend, deeply interested in so much, with wise questions ranging from effective governance to science to an elderly neighbor’s biography. In losing John we have lost an exemplary, devoted citizen of his community and our world, a gracious and kind man.
